How to Apply PPBU

Withdrawal of PPBU Disbursement

  YBR may withdrawal the PPBU if:

* Students deferring their study without first obtaining permission from YBR

* Fail to complete and execute the agreement within the specified period

* Providing false information in the application form

* Fail to remain in the areas of study as specified in the PPBU application

* Fail to graduate from universities / colleges / ILA / ILS within the prescribed period

* Obtain a grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 and below

 

(PPBU) / Scholarship will be fully withdrawn and students shall be required to make full repayment of PPBU / Scholarship which they have received during the period of their study.

Termination of PPBU Contract

If a student fails to pursue their study YBR will automatically terminate all disbursement.

Students shall be required to make full repayment of the entire amount of the sponsorship which was disbursed during their study period as stipulated in the agreement.

The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to support Malaysian Government’s effort to attract, motivate and retain talented human capital from abroad.

Talented international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship and further their studies in any selected and well-established Malaysian public and private universities.

This scholarship is divided into two (2) categories of study: Postgraduate and Post-doctoral Studies

ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must fit the following criteria:-

  1. Not be more than 45 years of age during application.
  2. Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Master’s Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Master’s degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
  3. Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required:
  4. IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or
  5. TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.
  6. In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants
  7. Wrote a proposal that is relevant to the needs and interests of Malaysia (research-based programme only)
  8. Has applied for and gained admission to postgraduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application or has a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation with the universities in Malaysia).

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Each scholarship consists of:-

  1. Air tickets from recipient’s capital city to Malaysia
  2. An approved tuition fees
  3. Monthly maintenance allowance
  4. Annual grant for books and internal travel
  5. Medical / Health Insurance
  6. Installation and Termination grant
  7. Thesis allowance (will be paid at the beginning of research (after proposal defense) and the balance will be paid only upon submission of the thesis) – For PhD and Post-Doctoral only
  8. A conference travel grant and journal publication grant (PhD and Post-Doctoral only)

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:-

  1. High-level academic achievement
  2. The quality of the research proposal and its potential contribution towards advancement of technology and human well-being.
  3. Excellent communication, writing and reading skills in English Language

GENERAL CONDITION OF AWARD

  1. Scholarship holder must undertake full-time studies for postgraduate and post-doctoral studies at a campus of Malaysian Universities.
  2. It is the responsibility of the scholarship holders to confirm admission to the university.
  3. Scholarship holders must not change their programme during tenure of the scholarship except with written permission from their university and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
  4. Scholarship holders must follow the approved programmes and abide by the university’s rules, regulations and codes of conduct. Any suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of award. Monthly allowances are not payable during suspension, including suspension due to illness.
  5. It is the responsibility of successful candidates to apply for and meet the requirements for the issuing of an appropriate entry visa including medical examination. The offer of the scholarship does not guarantee the granting of a visa.
  6. Scholarship holders must maintain satisfactory progress and good standing as stipulated by their host university and degree programme, or the scholarship will be withdrawn.
  7. The scholarships are tenable in Malaysian universities and research must be carried out in Malaysia.
  8. Scholarship holders are not allowed to take any paid employment during their tenure unless with written approval from the host university.

HOW TO APPLY

All applications should be made ONLINE through Ministry of Higher Education’s portal.

STEP 1

  • REGISTER your Passport Number or National Identication Number, password and email address.
  • LOGIN to online application form and fill in all section completely.
  • Please ensure all information is correct before you print the application and logout.

STEP 2

  • Please attach printed application form together with the following documents:
  1. Recent passport size photograph.
  2. Completed Medical Report.
  3. A certified copy of current passport showing evidence of citizenship.
  4. A certified copy of academic transcript, testimonials and/or references relating to the relevant study, co-curriculum activities, achievements.
  5. A clear and precise study or research plan
  6. A certified copy of English Language proficiency certificate (Test of English as a Foreign Language/TOEFL or International English Language Testing Service/IELTS)
  7. Curriculum Vitae.
  8. Admission letter from Malaysian University.
  9. Two letters of recommendation from two (2) people who can act as referees to support your application.
  10. Endorsement Form.
  • You are required to complete the two Letters of Recommendation from two referees, Endorsement Form and Medical Report. Please bring printed ONLINE application form and required documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the relevant agency responsible for the MIS scholarship in your country to get the endorsement.

STEP 3

  • Scan all documents stated above in PDF format and LOGIN to MIS Online Application. [How to convert documents to PDF format]
  • You are required to attach the documents and click SUBMIT button to submit the application. You will see the notification message when the process is done. All the application is fully online. No hard copy is required. Bring the hard copy of application form and original certificate during the interview session.

GOLONGAN SASARAN · Pelajar Kolej Komuniti di peringkat sijil dan diploma PERINGKAT PENGAJIAN · Sijil TEMPAT PENGAJIAN · Kolej Komuniti SYARAT · Pemohon hendaklah warganegara Malaysia;

· TPP diberikan hanya kepada pelajar Kolej Komuniti peringkat sijil jangka panjang sahaja iaitu yang melibatkan pengajian sekurang-kurangnya 5 semester (peringkat sijil);

· Pelajar disyaratkan menandatangai perjanjian tetapi tiada syarat kontrak berkhidmat dengan kerajaan;

· Pelajar perlu mengemukakan seorang penjamin;

· Pelajar tidak dibenarkan mempunyai penaja yang lain; dan

· Pelajar perlu membayar balik pinjaman selepas 6 bulan tamat belajar. PERMOHONAN / PERTANYAAN Pelajar baru atau pelajar sedia ada Kolej Komuniti yang berkelayakan boleh mengemukakan permohonan melalui pusat Kolej Komuniti masing-masing.

Program bantuan kewangan ini mula ditawarkan bermula sesi pengambilan pelajar 2005/2006.

• Pembiayaan bantuan kewangan ini adalah untuk pelajar golongan sasaran B40 dan M40 yang mengikuti program bertaraf asasi dengan pendapatan keluarga kurang daripada RM10,000 sahaja.

• Pelajar daripada golongan sasaran B40 dan M40 yang telah mendaftar mengikuti kursus dengan menggunakan syarat kelayakan masuk lulus SPM atau yang setaraf dengannya adalah layak memohon. • Pelajar yang telah mendaftar mengikuti kursus dengan menggunakan syarat kelayakan masuk lulus SPM atau yang setaraf dengannya.

• Kursus pengajian telah diperakui dan diluluskan oleh Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi, Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi. PERMOHONAN / PERTANYAAN • Tawaran kepada pelajar baharu dibuat berdasarkan kepada senarai yang dikemukakan oleh pihak Universiti Awam kepada Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi setelah pelajar selesai mendaftar kursus di pusat pengajian asasi masing-masing; dan

• Semakan dan tawaran program boleh dibuat secara atas talian (online) melalui laman sesawang KPT setelah senarai lengkap pelajar asasi diterima daripada Universiti Awam. Pemohon hendaklah menyemak dan mencetak sendiri dokumen tawaran seperti berikut :-

  • Surat tawaran
  • Borang perjanjian (3 salinan, borang kosong boleh difotokopi)
  • Borang penyata kewangan penjamin
  • Panduan mengisi borang perjanjian
  • Dokumen perjanjian yang telah lengkap hendaklah diserahkan semasa hari pendaftaran
  • Tuntutan bayaran pelajar asasi sedia ada akan dibuat melalui pihak pentadbir UA masing-masing pada setiap semester
